Joy Workshop

Play with Joy – Workshop & Discovery Space, Motueka

“If you’re laughing too much, you’re not working hard enough.”
Have you ever heard that before?

It’s an interesting observation: Happiness is sold as the ultimate goal to strive for, and at the same time, we are given implicit or explicit messages not to be too happy.
We are offered the idea that objects, people or events will make us happy.
We are offered the idea that we better don’t celebrate too early, because bad luck might occur, or what we’re celebrating might change and then we may feel sad. Better not be happy in the first place.
We are also offered that it’s not OK to be joyful when someone else is having a hard time.

Well, we think it’s time to change the narratives.

You choose which stories you buy. Do they serve your life or do they hold you back?

In this workshop, we will be playing with joy. Joy as a feeling is an incredibly powerful resource for your life. Like all the good things in life, it comes with a shadow side. We will look at both sides with curiosity and compassion.
